PAINTED PADDLES

Paige Clark, talented artist behind these painted paddles, uses grain patterns to inspire each work. They are all unique 1 of 1 works that depict scenes from her experiences in the outdoors.

"Having paddled over 10,000km, I set off to create a paddle that would reflect my experiences shared with the lakes and rivers of Ontario. I strive to create beautiful paddles that will be cherished, enjoyed and cared for."

What makes SLPC paddles special?

I have high standards at SLPC and strive to help you have the best canoeing experience.

It starts with the lumber. Each board is hand selected and pick for its straight and strong grain. Only paddles that meet the rigorous grain selection process become SLPC paddles so you can trust them to take you where you need to go.
Nothing ruins a trip like a broken paddle trust me, I know!

But what makes my paddles different than the rest?

I believe the magic is in the details. The paddle designs are unique to SLPC, while I acknowledge the canoe paddle has been around for a long time and I am not making a groundbreaking innovation, (that belongs to the indigenous peoples of this land) I do feel the SLPC shapes are unique to the current market. The blades are incredibly ergonomic and cut smoothly through the water while their higher centre of mass gives you a flexible control over your canoe. SLPC paddles are comfortable, versatile, light, and easy to paddle. Each paddle I make is assured to be straight (no warping), free of any sanding marks (each paddle gets a final hand sand to make sure its free of any visible marks), finished with the best marine varnish or tongue oil. I don't cut corners when it comes to finishing because what would be the point.

The proportions of each paddle have been carefully curated to match the needs of the paddler. Each size (from 44" to 63") has a uniquely tapered shaft, a unique blade size and a unique handle; all slightly different to create the perfectly balanced paddle.
This balance creates a light but sturdy feel. My paddles are built to last longer and let you go further.
I don't use automation or CNC machine. Each paddle is made by hand from start to finish. I see all the saw dust, wood chips and shavings that leaves the initial piece of lumber. This is why I can assure the quality of each and every paddle I make.

I go the extra mile to make sure all my products are up to the highest possible standard. I hope that you will trust me to make your next canoe paddle and experience the difference of SLPC.
